Folk on the Green is a friendly music day held every year on Horsefair Green, Stony Stratford,
featuring great music from bands local to Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes, and a few places further afield.
Folk on the Green last year was on Sunday 10th June 2007
and a wonderful day was had by all --- performers and audience alike.
It's free for spectators, but it costs real money to put on (insurance, toilets, power, licences, etc),
so if you'd like to donate anything to help us with our running costs, please get in touch.
Help us run it next year.

Folk On The Green 2008 will take place on Sunday June 15th -- Father's Day.
Programmes with this year's lineup will be on sale during Stony Live! In the meantime, scroll down the page to remember the great acts who entertained us last year.

Just to remind you, last year's line up was...
HIGHER PLANE Higher Plane are Mike Squire (Vocals/Guitar/Harmonica) and Janet Edsall (Vocals/Flute/Keyboards). The duo have appeared at local festivals and other events since 2005, playing their easy going blend of folk, country and acoustic pop, originals and covers with a focus on harmony singing.

THE USUAL SUSPECTS Catch `em if you can: Chris "The Driver" Boylan, Andy "The Look-out"" Bridgeman, Pete " The Axeman" Cripps, Tony "The Mastermind" Boylan. Paroled for 1 weekend only, together they are...”The Usual Suspects”

RACHEL FURNER Rachel is a lively and outgoing 14 year old singer songwriter from Northamptonshire. She accompanies herself on the piano and keyboards and her debut album is near to completion. Please visit her myspace site for more info: www.myspace.com/rachelfurner

LEE DEVINE & TERRY MARSHALL Lee Devine has appeared as a backing singer on recent albums by Dean Rees and David Cattermole, but today her soulful tones take centre stage to the musical accompaniment of local sax maniac Terry Marshall.

EMM Terry Emm is a 19 year old Hockliffe singer songwriter whose recently released 'Summer' EP has received glowing reviews leading to support slots with Iain Archer and Rosie Flores. Expect the Emm performance to be hushed and reflective with subtle acoustic guitars and vivid poetic lyrical imagery in the style of Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake.

REAL RABITZKIN 2 lead guitarists playing as if controlled by 1 crazy brain, a bassist who’ll slap & tickle you till you're red in the face, a drummer that'll get you moving uncontrollably and a keyboard/ synth player adding that little extra to tantalize you. Influenced by such a diverse range of artists, they will have something for all shapes and sizes! www.myspace.com/realrabitzkin

PETER WEBSTER AND ROSS FERGUSSON Peter and Ross have been playing together at local pub sessions for the last couple of years. Peter does the singing whilst Ross handles the tricky guitar bits. They span a range of genres, performing some well known songs as well as some less publicised gems.

DANCING TO THE BIG FIDDLE BAND The Big Fiddle Band, directed by Jenny Newman, consists of between 20 and 30 fiddle players of varying ages and experience, some of them making their first ever public performance. Cheering and encouragement would be much appreciated! To find out about classes and workshops, contact Jenny on (01908) 262098 or via her website www.3sticks.co.uk

SOUL FEVER New and improved for 2007 --- a new beginning for us! We are happy to expose to the FOTG audience the new line up with stunning vocalists Sue Gray and Dave Parker bringing their own style, but with the same energy and drive that you know and love.

TOM CRAVEN Fusing the acoustic stylings of Damien Rice, the melancholia of Tom McRae and the lyrical style of Goo Goo Dolls, along with his own deeply personal and honest songwriting, the 21 year old from Watford isn’t here to change the world, just to enjoy what he does and he hopes others will too.

RUDE KNOT TO Rude Knot To are a 3 piece acoustic band from the South Coast of England and the West Coast of Ireland, whose “new music in a Celtic tradition” has been wowing audiences throughout Europe and the USA for many years. Recently returned from the USA this is their third visit to Stony Stratford. www.rudeknotto.com

DAVID CATTERMOLE David has been writing songs since he was 12 years old. He has just completed a new album titled 'Travelling Man', a chilled out masterpiece with ten songs that will touch your soul with their melodic grace and evocative lyrics. SIX POINT FIVE Six Point Five --- just seven lovable local moptops playing skapunkjazzfunkreggaemetalrock and sounding like they’re beating the hell out of a high school jazz band. Twice. For more information visit www.myspace.com/sixpointfive
